Maintaining Oakview's safety, security, and appearance is everyone's responsibility. The links below can connect you find the community resources to help you do this.

Abandoned vehicles
301-773-6411

Also known as Vehicle Recovery Section, or VRS, is responsible for removing abandoned (left in 1 spot for 72 hours or more), unregistered, and junk vehicles from county roads and community neighborhoods. I find emailing them to be most effective (click this link):

abandoned.vehicle@montgomerycountymd.gov. (they DO respond!). More information can be found on their website.

Get it Fixed: Montgomery County Department of Transportation

Need to report debris pick-up, pot-hole or sidewalk repair, storm drain problems, street signs missing/broken, and problems with traffic signals, or other issues? Click here to "get it fixed!"

Graffiti Abatement GRAB hotline 301-607-4722

If you spot graffiti anywhere in Montgomery County, but especially our neighborhood, call this number, leave a message. They do listen to their messages and will get back to you! You can also access their website. If you see a Metro bus stop tagged or vandalized, contact the Metro Police at 202-962-2121. Click here for their website.

Maryland State Highway Administration 

See a problem along New Hampshire Ave. (Route 650) or any other numbered road in Maryland? Submit a service request using this online form. You'll receive a service request number. Sometimes you need to call back to follow up.

MoCo police, non-emergency

24 hours, 7 days a week, this recorded line is the best way to alert county police to anything impacting your quality of life. This can include suspicious activity, noise complaints, illegally parked vehicles, or anything out of the ordinary. Note, abandonded vehicles is a different phone number.

Montgomery County Call Center

This is the go-to number or website for a variety of concerns from housing complaints to questions about road work. You can submit your request by email, phone, or even twitter. To submit a housing complaint, click here. Montgomery County 311 also has an app if this website is pulled up from a tablet or phone. You can also check their  property data mining database for past complaints for an address.

Montgomery County Noise Ordinance

Noisy neighbors? Know your rights! Click the links below to know what is permitted and what to do if that's not being respected. Click here for information about filing a "Two Party Noise Complaint Form," for noise incidents not witnessed by a county law enforcement officer.

If you're not seeing the results you expect from these resources, please contact us and we will be happy to partner with you in addressing your concerns. You can also access the Montgomery County Property Data Mining database here to check whether a property has multiple complaints.

Streetlight Outage Reporting

Report dead streetlights (on wooden poles) click here. Write the street address nearest the pole (including city) into the search box. In Montgomery County, PEPCO is responsible for overhead streetlights on wooden poles. To report a problem with a different pole, click here.

Trash Resources 

BULK TRASH PICKUP REQUEST: If you have large items such as furniture, appliances, or just a large quantity of trash, please request a bulk trash pickup at least the day before our normal trash pickup day (which is Wednesday). You would need to call 311 or 240-777-0311 by 7 PM Tuesday or 11:59 AM on Tuesday if using the online form. More information can be found here.

TRASH ALONG NORTHWEST BRANCH TRIBUTARY: See a discarded mattress, a car fender, or other unsightly garbage along the stream which parallels East Light and runs under Oakview Drive? Call Park and Planning at 301-670-8080  and with an approximate address, notify them of the trash and they'll send a cleanup crew.

Brandon Stewart has attended Oakview Community meetings and is a great resource to help with water issues in our neighborhood. Email him if you have any questions or concerns.
